Bulgarian Syngas Project Launches Construction

Karlovo Power Plant Will Turn Syngas Derived from Straw and Wood Wastes into Cleaner, More Reliable and Economic Electricity Bulgarian plans to use alternative fuels for generating sustainable electricity are now taking shape, following the start of construction of the Karlovo integrated gasified biomass power plant. When completed the plant will distribute cleaner electricity, using…

Enphase Energy Announces New Commercial Solar Initiative in Europe

“Commercial solar projects are becoming more widespread in Europe. In France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Switzerland and United Kingdom, small commercial systems up to 100kW represent a fast-growing, addressable market for our microinverters,” said Olivier Jacques, Managing Director for Enphase Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “Enphase offers installers and users a technology solution with a modular architecture, integrated intelligence, lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and increased project profitability.”

Living Roofs Boost Solar Panel Performance

It also turns out that solar panels can benefit from green roofs. Solar cells tend to perform better and convert more sunlight into electricity under cool conditions. Heat is also generated as a result of solar radiation, which is why high-performing solar panels often have the need for extra cooling. If solar panels are positioned on top of a conventional roof that consists of gravel or bare waterproofing membrane, even more heat is generated.

Guest Post: An Insight into Geothermal Pumps

Geothermal power offers the best green deal for home heating currently. The power comes from a range of different underground sources, including shallow ground, warm underwater springs and liquefied rock in the form of magma that lies far beneath the earth’s crust.

Ten Facts About Solar Panels

There is an increasing awareness in Australia about the obvious advantages and benefits of switching to solar power. Not only does it contribute to a more ecologically sustainable environment, but in the long term, it also saves you money on power bills.

Los Angeles Utility Powers Up 11.4-MW SolarWorld Solar System

The Adelanto Solar Power Plant ties into a switching and converter station at the southern terminus of LADWP’s Southern Transmission System, which links Southern California with wind farms and the existing Intermountain Power Project, a power-generation facility in Utah capable of producing 1,800 megawatts of electricity.
