North America’s leading commercial wind operations and maintenance event, Wind O&M Dallas 2016*, is gearing up for April 12 and 13.
The Wind O&M Dallas Summit is an annual event that brings together hundreds of wind industry professionals, decision-makers, and investors, from around the United States and the world.
The event will be preceded by the Wind O&M Dallas Awards 2016, which will be held on April 11 and will launch the 8th annual Wind O&M Dallas Summit. The Awards dinner and ceremony will be sponsored for the first time by E.ON Energy Services (EES), a provider of comprehensive operations and maintenance and asset management services to wind farms. E.ON will also be serving as principal sponsor of the Summit itself for the second year in a row.
The Summit bills itself as helping to “Eliminate Downtime, Mitigate Risk, Increase Reliability, & Optimize Fleet Performance,” and is expecting to play host to more than 500 industry leaders. Speaking to the more than 500 executive attendees will be a who’s-who of the global wind industry, including:
- Greg Wolf, President, Commercial Portfolio, Duke Energy
- Keith Day, President, E.ON Energy Services
- David Smith, CEO & President, Leeward Energy
- Chris Shugart, Senior VP of Operations, Pattern Energy
- Chris Brown, President, Vestas
In total, the Summit will feature three conference tracks, multiple workshops, over 60 speakers, and more than 50 sponsors and exhibitors — including Next Era, Duke Energy, EDF, Leeward Energy, Alliant, AVEC, E.ON, EDPR, Pattern Energy, Vestas, Siemens, GE, Suzlon, and many more.
The wind operations and maintenance industry is a growing business, thanks to the growing wind industry itself. And as original manufacturer warranties and service agreements wind down, the wind O&M business will heat up. As the Summit make note of in the brochure, “we know that wind energy remains expensive to capture and no wind farm is 100% immune to crippling mechanical failures and unexpected downtime.” Enter the O&M industry, and the Dallas Summit will provide the perfect opportunity for wind turbine operators to “develop a proactive operations and maintenance approach” so as to mitigate the worst of possibilities.
The goal of the Wind O&M Dallas Summit is to capture the insights that result from bringing together more than 500 specialists and corporate leaders, so that attendees will garner the opportunity to “leave possessing all you need to eliminate downtime, increase reliability, and secure optimal performance of your whole asset portfolio.”
“The Wind O&M Dallas Awards is a high-profile event that recognizes the successes and achievements of companies in the O&M space, and E.ON Energy Services is honored to be a principal sponsor,” Keith Day, president of E.ON Energy Services said.
“In just short of a year, we’ve emerged as an important O&M player. There are many O&M providers, but E.ON’s experience as an owner and operator, along with our innovative Service With an Owner’s Eye approach, make us uniquely able to tackle common problems with uncommon solutions that are timely and cost-effective. We are excited about participating in the Wind O&M Dallas Summit and look forward to the Awards.”
In addition to last year’s awards — Best Technological Innovation, Best Example of O&M Excellence, Wind Farm Owners of the Year, Wind Turbine Manufacturer of the Year, Wind Service Provider of the Year, and Best Industry New Comer — the 2016 Awards will include three near categories — Sub-Supplier of the Year, Wind Farm Investor of the Year, and Exceptional Individual Achievement.
“What’s needed is for the industry to share and showcase how to truly master the challenges of fleet O&M and I’m proud to have E.ON Energy Services and the Danish Wind Power Academy helping us spearhead such a movement at the Wind O&M Dallas Awards 2016,” said Kerr Jeferies, project director for Wind Energy Update. “This is the only place for the wind industry to shine a spotlight on true achievement, dedication and success across a broad range of unique categories. We can’t wait to get started!”
