Solar professionals will gather at largest solar energy show to address issues critical to industry’s continued success and growth trajectory
Solar Power International 2013 (SPI ‘13), North America’s premier business-to-business event for professionals in solar energy, will provide a platform for discussion of a wide variety of trends, new product introductions, and critical issues as the industry marks a record-breaking quarter. The show takes place in Chicago from October 21 – 24 at McCormick Place and is expected to draw 12,000 of the industry’s most influential professionals, policymakers, and organizations. Event details and attendee registration information is available at solarpowerinternational.com.
Poised to hit the 10 GW milestone in the U.S. before the end of 2013*, the solar industry is facing a variety of issues on multiple fronts. Key topics including State Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS), passing “commence construction” language, net metering, the solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC), managing solar on the distribution grid, and much more will be addressed in SPI’s general sessions and comprehensive conference program.
“Doom and gloom for the solar industry – absolutely not. Despite what may have been a rough start to the year, the U.S. industry is on track to have a record-breaking year, with strong growth reported in Q2. However, there are still a number of very critical issues that need to be addressed by both policymakers and industry; therefore, this year’s gathering of the who’s who in solar couldn’t come at a more important time,” said Stephen Miner, CEO of SPI ‘13 organizer – Solar Energy Trade Shows. “We are looking forward to a fast-paced week of discussions about real solutions, product and partnership announcements, exciting new start-ups, and much more.”
