Decorative Panels Provide Calming Influence

January 20, 2011

Azure Blue decorative daylighting panels by Duo-Gard “allow individuals to bask in a soothing hue of relaxation, even during a hectic workday,” according to a recent press release from the company. Duo-Gard has declared Azure Blue its color of the year for 2011.

“We all get caught up in our frantic daily activities and often times we just need to add a little color in our lives. What better way to ease away the everyday headaches than with the implementation of a cool, relaxing decorative panel color?” said David Miller, president of Duo-Gard. “We selected Azure Blue as our decorative daylighting panel color of the year for its aesthetically appealing interior design hue.”

Duo Gard cellular technologyDuo-Gard uses cellular polycarbonate technology to create its line of interior and exterior architectural products. This structure creates panels that are 200 times more impact resistant than glass, but weigh only 1/6th as much. The cellular spaces come in various thicknesses, and can be filled with insulating gel or coated with a solar block coating to decrease the U-value and solar heat gain.

The decorative daylighting panels are available in a variety of colors and patterns including botanicals, mosaics and grids in lavender, silver, gold and much more. The panel’s translucent features maintain the flow of diffused light throughout a room’s interior, enabling designers to utilize the sustainable benefits of daylighting. Duo-Gard’s custom backlighting and illumination systems also include both static and color-changing LEDs.

The panels are 100% recyclable at the end of their life, including the insulating gel, and Duo-Gard offers products with up to 40% recycled materials content upon request. LEED projects can benefit from the daylighting aspects of the panels, as well as their recycled content.
