Verde Lifestyles; An Eco-friendly Furnishing Business

January 13, 2011

Many companies are becoming more dedicated to being environmentally friendly. Verde Lifestyles is a home furnishings business that is thriving as an eco-friendly vendor of sustainable products.

Verde Lifestyles was started in 2009 by Danielle Brycz and Ryan Forrest. It is a 95% paperless business and is solely online-based. Their goal was to have a positive impact on the environment. Even their business cards are made from recycled materials and printed with vegetable dye ink.

Their product line consists of three main categories:

  • Sustainable furniture
  • Bamboo rugs
  • Organic pillows

The wood furniture is regulated from farms in Thailand and hand-crafted, the bamboo rugs are harvested from the Anji Mountain Region in China, and the organic throw pillows have recycled bottle cap filling with a removable cotton cover that can be washed. One of their best furniture sellers is the twisted wood end tables. Plus they encourage using eco-friendly and naturally water resistant tung or teak oil to finish the wood products. Other products that are offered are:

  • Sustainable wood bath and wall décor
  • Sustainable wood home accents
  • Sustainable wood stools, benches, tables, and chairs

All of their products are made from all natural organics, recycled and sustainable materials. Their website states,

“We carry only the best green products and have a ton of great information on how best to select, use, take care of and even repurpose each eco friendly home decor item you buy from us.”

Verde Lifestyles even offers discounts for designers to partner with them and use urban green furniture and accessories in their designs. This benefits all parties, the designers, the manufacturers, the clients and the environment. They are also a member of 1% for the Planet, a network of companies that give 1% of their sales to environmental causes.

This is a business that is concerned and has made the effort to be environmentally friendly. Verde Lifestyles is setting an example for other businesses to follow.
