When electric under floor heating is installed under tile or stone floors, the floors hold the heat for long periods, which reduces the amount of energy needed throughout the day and night. Stone or tile floors also save trees and are warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Masdar Launches Renewable Energy Desalination Program

At the World Future Energy Summit 2013 Masdar today launched a pilot program to test and develop advanced energy-efficient seawater desalination technologies suitable to be powered by renewable energy sources. The long-term goal of the program is to implement renewable energy-powered desalination plants in the United Arab Emirates and to have a facility at commercial scale by 2020.
