OneByNine (1/9) is a design firm that was developed in 2009 by Lukasz Wawrzenczyk and Konrad Grabczuk. They specialize in architecture, interior design and urban design.
Like most architectural and interior design projects their works are better expressed in photographs than in words. Two examples, both of interior design projects of small scale developments, are of an apartment in Hong Kong, China and one in Warsaw, Poland.
The apartment in Hong Kong has an internal gross floor area of 35 square meters. It was designed in 2011 and constructed this year. The architects that worked on this project were Ewa Koter and Lukasz Wawrzenczyk. They developed the project using numerous diagrams including:
- Old layouts
- Old functions
- Demolished walls
- New layouts
- New functions
- Final concept
The apartment in Warsaw has an internal gross floor area of 46 square meters, was designed in 2006 and constructed in 2007.
Both of these apartments demonstrate how space can be utilized in any size project to make the most of a necessity that we are rapidly consuming. Both are also beautifully and uniquely designed with attention to details using minimalistic, clean lines.
Since words fall flat hopefully these pictures of two incredible apartments do inspire designers and consumers world wide.
