You can then choose how many identical replacement bulbs you need and enter the location of the new bulbs, and then the Bulb Finder will find you an energy efficient light bulb that meets your needs. The app includes a summary of the length of time it will take to receive a paypack on your investment in the energy efficient light bulb, the estimated total cost of the bulb, the amount of money the bulb will save you in its lifetime, your annual energy savings and the annual amount of CO2 reduction thanks to the new light bulb.
The app lets you build a shopping list so that you can apply this process to as many light bulbs as you require. The app also allows you to purchase the bulbs through the app itself, meaning you don’t have to go hunting for the specific bulb that they recommended on the Internet or at hardware stores. Instead, you can simply hit the “Buy Now” button and you can purchase your list of energy efficient light bulbs via credit card. The only downside is that the shipping costs are a little expensive. It cost about $8.00 to ship one bulb for me from Milwaukee, where they are based, to the east coast of the U.S. Still, as is the case with many things in the world of energy efficiency, the long term payoff is certainly worth the higher installation costs.
