In May of 2011, Fomo Products, Inc. and its employees received lead-safe certification from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This allows qualified employees to conduct renovations and repairs in homes and businesses that were built prior to 1978 where a higher incidence of lead paint was used in applications. This goes along with the EPA’s new child safety criteria for lead-free situations.
A project that has utilized the benefits of Fomo’s environmental sealants was the restoration of the Springfield Armory in 2006. The project required the use of Handi Seal’s Window and Door Sealant and Handi Foam’s Spray Foam for the larger gaps in the exteriors of the buildings. The Armory was closed in 1968 and reopened in 1978 as a Springfield National Historic Site and the Springfield Technical College. The restoration made all of the historic buildings much more energy efficient to maintain.
When a product is necessary to increase a building’s energy efficiency nothing makes more sense than that product being as environmentally sustainable as possible. Fomo is a perfect example of a company doing the best that they can for themselves, their clients and our world. Plus the University of Fomo is dedicated to educating all interested parties in the better and safer use of their products.
