The leading UK house builder, Morris Homes, is undertaking a huge new green project: building zero-carbon homes. The 295-home development is being designed by sustainable architecture specialists to meet level 6 of the “Code for Sustainable Homes,” which is the technical guidance from the UK government to build homes that reduce carbon emissions.
At first glance, the great American inventor Thomas Edison may not seem to have done much to help save the environment. After all, he developed the carbonized filament light bulb, which is now being replaced by more energy efficient models. But believe it or not, Thomas Edison was a pioneer in renewable energy.
