Like you pointed out, building a stylish green home far from main infrastructure is not going to be a home where you can truly LIVE green. Very few people who profess to be eco-conscious actually live in a truly green way. I know I personally have a long way to go, so I don't say I'm going green (until I make enough changes to qualify for that standard.) Before someone labels themselves as environmentally responsible, they need to honestly assess if they're taking several steps to really LIVE green, and not just trying to make a stylish impression on others.
